Biography

Seán is an expert in Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence with over 13 years of experience in research and industry, developing cutting edge solutions for complex problems in a wide range of applications. The topic of his of PhD was “Speckle Reduction and Edge Detection in Ultrasound Imagery”, which focused on the use of image processing and machine learning algorithms to improve the quality of medical imaging.

He has worked as a lead algorithm developer for pedestrian detection in automotive applications, lead software architect for a medical device startup, and is now a co-founder and head of Artificial Intelligence at Kresk, a Portuguese company focused to the creation of innovative software for the healthcare sector.
