Researcher and full member of IBEB, Diana Prata, published her latest work “Psychological and hormonal effects of socio-emotional learning in adolescents: a randomized controlled trial“ in Humanities and Social Sciences Communications.
This study found evidence that endogenous oxytocin is increased during group-bonding tasks; and that its increase after a socio-emotional learning week correlated positively with their increase in emotional empathy. These findings support the idea that bonding and emotional empathy are mediated by this neuropeptide.
