Biography
Matilde Pós-de-Mina Pato (PhD in Biomedical Engineering from IST-UTL in 2010) is an Adjunct Professor at ISEL and a researcher at IBEB and LASIGE (FCUL). She has supervised and co-supervised several MSc works in Computer Science and is currently co-supervising two PhD students at FCT-NOVA in Informatics. She has co-authored dozens of papers in national and international journals and conference proceedings.
Currently, she is part of the Management Committee of the COST ACTION EUGAIN (European Network For Gender Balance in Informatics Management Committee) in WG2 (from Bachelor/Master studies to Ph.D.). She participates in European and national R&D projects with industrial partners and other universities. She participated in organising a Lecture-Style Tutorial on KDD 2021 entitled “Creating Recommender Systems Datasets in Scientific Fields”. Furthermore, she has a talk where teachers and researchers can discuss computer science topics. Currently, her research focuses on creating a Telemonitoring system for chronically ill patients and developing recommender datasets for healthcare.
