Biography
João Guerra completed a BSc degree in Physiotherapy in 2007 at Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa. He has worked as a sports physiotherapists and in outpatients clinics with musculoskeletal patients. He also has experience abroad having worked for the NHS. PhD finished in 2022. He is currently a Professor at Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa – Lisboa, where he has been engaged in academic and research activities since 2022, focusing on human movement analusis and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Since late 2022, in parallel with his teaching duties, he is the coordinator of the activities at the Health Research Laboratory at Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa – CrossLab. Here, he conducts research on developing and validating clinical assessment and measurement instruments, aiming to enhance the accuracy of observation-based assessments and better support the diagnosis and clinical decision-making of health professionals.
