Biography

I hold an MSc in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon since April 2022. Throughout my academic career, I had the opportunity to work with a team of researchers at Hospital da Luz Learning Health where I studied if the data obtained from the different magnetic resonance scanners were reproducible. In turn, in my master’s thesis, in collaboration with IBEB and Hospital de Santa Marta (Serviço de Angiologia e Cirurgia Vascular), I developed an algorithm and interface to help in the surgical planning of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms to reduce the likelihood of postoperative complications.

In early 2023, through a professional internship, I start working as a biomedical engineer at Exotictarget Lda (https://www.ablute.pt/) a start-up that is focused on the development of innovative and sustainable sanitary devices and healthcare solutions. In September 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Hugo Ferreira (FCUL/IBEB), Prof. Susana Freitas (INESC-MN) and Dr. Nuno Marújo (Ablute_), I started a doctoral program in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering at FCUL, which aims to develop a “lab-on-a-chip” capable to perform continuous urinalysis and include it in the ablute_ sanitary device.
