The students from the Master’s in Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, Carolina Margarido, Catarina Lima, and Raquel Costa, supervised by Professor Nuno Matela, won 1st place in the H-INNOVA Digital Health Summit Call for Projects in the student category with their project Health Crossing Borders! This project consists of a health service that includes a wearable ring to monitor the user’s biological signals, indicating whether the values are within normal ranges, even during environmental and routine changes while traveling. The service also features a platform that provides guidance on required travel documentation and information about pharmacies and available medications.

Students Joana Carvoeiro, Sara Fontoura, Ana Catarina Costa, and Hugo Vieira, supervised by Professors Ana Margarida Mota and Nuno Matela, also won 2nd place with the project LOTUS! LOTUS is a wearable band designed for pregnant women, enabling continuous monitoring of uterine contractions and fetal movements to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
