Biography
Sonja is a PhD student investigating the neurobiology of human connection. Combining her Master’s background in the Anthropology of Culture and Human Movement with social neuroscience and psychology, her doctoral research focuses on how social dance and interpersonal touch foster group bonding. By examining the role of oxytocin during synchronized movement, Sonja explores how dance functions as an affordable, powerful biological technology to strengthen community ties and bridge cultural divides.
