In the context of the 3BAtwin project (coordinated by IBEB/FC.ID/CIÊNCIAS), the University of Galway (GALWAY) is organising a “Training school on clinical trial design and management” for FCiências.ID/CIÊNCIAS researchers and students from 22nd to 26th of June 2026.

The school will take place at Clinical Sciences Institute (CSI), University of Galway, Galway, Ireland, and will be an opportunity to learn from the strong experience of GALWAY in translating medical devices into the MedTech industry. Anyone from FC.ID+CIÊNCIAS, Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) or GALWAY can attend, after filling in the following registration form:

Objectives of the school:

  • Provide training on ethics;
  • Provide training on medical device regulations and standards;
  • Provide training on clinical evaluation of a medical imaging device and study design;
  • Provide training on data and research management;
  • Provide training on statistics and analysis;
  • Provide exchange of experiences with researchers who were involved in establishing clinical trials for their products.

3BAtwin is a European Union Twinning Project coordinated by FCiências.ID/CIÊNCIAS which aims to capacitate them with the various specific/fine knowledge and tools which will allow to accelerate Medical Microwave Imaging (MMWI) from the research bench to the patient bedside.

The main objective of 3BAtwin is for FC.ID/CIÊNCIAS to gain excellence capacity in all sub-fields related to MMWI research, and become strong competitors in translating their unique breast and axillary region device to the hospital, which will be possible by further establishing a solid collaboration with project partners: University of Galway (GALWAY) in Ireland, and Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) in Italy. 

For “in-person” attendance, this registration form should be completed by the 30th of May. For “online” attendance, this registration form should preferably be completed by the 17th of June.
